How do I interpret Volume Profile (VPVR) to locate high-volume nodes?

By Easy Money Scanner · Educational reference · Not investment advice

    The short answer

Volume Profile (VPVR) displays trading volume at specific price levels rather than over time, helping identify high-volume nodes where significant trading activity, and thus potential support/resistance, has occurred.

    How it works

The Point of Control (POC) marks the price with the highest traded volume, while low-volume nodes represent prices the market moved through quickly, often acting as areas of fast price movement in future sessions.

    An example

A stock consistently trading heavily near $45 builds a high-volume node there that traders watch as likely support on future pullbacks.

    Risk & limitations

Volume Profile reflects historical activity and doesn't guarantee future price will react the same way at those same levels.

Examples are hypothetical, not trade recommendations. US contract and regulatory references do not automatically apply in Canada. Rules, margin requirements and broker policies can change; confirm them with the relevant authority and your broker.
